: General musings

Edit: House was uploaded this week :).

I was so upset I decided to try something new, so I watched 'The Big Bang Theory' and it was fucking AWFUL. Do not watch it.

I want to watch good comedy movies, if you've seen anything do say.

I watched The Invention of Lying. I thought it was pretty rubbish, which was a big dissapointment. I had assumed it would be great, even though the trailer had suggested otherwise. But at least Cemetary Junction is out next year.
Ricky Gervais is presenting the Golden Globes next year though, he's always good at award ceremonies.

The user Jack reminded me about the XFM episodes with Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant and Karl Pilkington. They're really good, so if you're ever bored or want to be amused I recommend you give them a listen.

I should be sending my uni applications off soon but I'm reconsidering my course again. This would be the third time I've changed my mind, so it's probably going to turn out that I don't bother applying at all.

I leave you with this, a song we can all relate to.

.

Hedgehog has been released! He was costing a lot, and he put on some good weight.

Cecil is a cool name for a hedgehog.

I don't think House aired this week, fucking American schedules.

Oct. 28, 2009 | 2:43 PM Ejit responds:

Thankyou.

Yeah, I'm confused about why nothing seems to have aired at all. I usually await the uploads of several US TV shows, and so far none of them have been added, even 2 days after they're usually uploaded.

I hope South Park is unaffected.

Oct. 28, 2009 | 2:22 PM DumbassDude says:

Still looking, but these are potential Universities so far:
De MontFort University
University of Portsmouth
University of Wolverhampton
University of Sunderland
University of Bolton

I'm still looking through them, phoning up the departments asking for more details about the course. My heart is set on De MontFort really.

Oct. 28, 2009 | 2:41 PM Ejit responds:

Am I right in thinking De MontFort is in Leicester?
It's probably a good university, but I'm biased against it because of the TV ad campaign.

Good luck with your choices. Don't you want to stay in Scotland?

Oct. 28, 2009 | 2:44 PM DumbassDude says:

I really want to stay in my secluded, Scottish, hill top village, but alas, I need to leave to pursue my career in bag-piping.

This village mainly concentrates on tree-trunk tossing.

Oct. 28, 2009 | 7:17 PM Ejit responds:

St Andrews absolutely must be great for bagpiping.

Oct. 28, 2009 | 3:01 PM HeartbreakHoldout says:

De Montfort University? We have this charming chant here at Leicester uni that goes "DMU HIV". I don't suppose there are many unis that do bag-piping tho

Oct. 28, 2009 | 7:18 PM Ejit responds:

That's a pretty good chant compared to others I've heard. My sister said that when she was at Sussex their chant was along the lines of "we're well laid back but do work also".

Oct. 28, 2009 | 4:20 PM DumbassDude says:

I'm not really wanting to play the bagpipes, Ha. It's an inside joke.
I really want to study Game Art Design.

DMU HIV? Awesome, my favourite type of rash.

Oct. 28, 2009 | 7:26 PM Ejit responds:

Have you thought about going into catering? I hear that's quite profitable in Scotland.

Oct. 28, 2009 | 5:36 PM Ejit says:

Guys you're supposed to be talking to me.

Oct. 28, 2009 | 6:52 PM HeartbreakHoldout says:

I guessed you weren't a bag-piper, but looking at your uni choices I guessed you weren't doing a conventional academic subject either.

But yeah, the rivalry between the unis is fun, and apparently you have a really good Student's union. Never dared venture into DMU territory though.

Also who the fuck is Ejit?

Oct. 28, 2009 | 7:43 PM Ejit responds:

what's your name all about

Oct. 29, 2009 | 11:47 AM DumbassDude says:

Catering? I can make sandwiches and open tins of tuna, thats it.

University rivalries sound fun, lots of hi-jinks and tom fooleries. TEE HEE!
Also, my personal statement was awesome apparently, let's hope it warms the hearts of all those who read it.

Oct. 29, 2009 | 1:31 PM Ejit responds:

Please say your personal statement doesn't have anecdotes and jokes. I hate those.

Oct. 29, 2009 | 6:52 PM DumbassDude says:

Who puts jokes in their personal statement? I have yet to see an example of that.

Oct. 29, 2009 | 7:31 PM Ejit responds:

Saw a maths personal statement where someone said along the lines of "I am interested in the concept of infinity to no end".

Nov. 3, 2009 | 3:21 PM Sidorio says:

East Anglia, eh? Maybe I'll see you there as the guy who spent his gap year at home and wants to do American Studies so I end up a tramp.

Nov. 3, 2009 | 4:23 PM Ejit responds:

That would be great if we went to the same university :o.

Nov. 4, 2009 | 3:09 PM Sidorio says:

East Anglia is actually my fourth choice and Portsmouth is my second, so I might end up with DumbassDude instead.

Nov. 4, 2009 | 4:44 PM Ejit responds:

What?! East Anglia is a much nicer university! It's my first choice, but I need AAA to get in :P.

Portsmouth is an awful awful place.

Nov. 6, 2009 | 2:38 PM Sidorio says:

Yeah, but my whole family comes from Portsmouth so it makes to easier.

Nov. 6, 2009 | 3:31 PM Ejit responds:

Awful awful place.
